Each time we tell someone new about the baby we are usually asked two questions: Do you want a girl or a boy? What will you name it?
The answer we often give to the first question is "one with ten fingers and ten toes". Though we all know we secretly desire one or the other, but we would never say it in case it turns out to be the other. I suppose that's the first of many things we'll secretly hope for as parents, but the baby will be loved and adored either way! Each friend and family member also has their guess of gender. Some use the old wives tales which can be entertaining! Sadly, we'll all have to wait until the first of June to find out if it will be "sugar and spice and all that's nice" or "frogs and snails and puppy dog tails".
The answer to the second question is less cryptic: We don't know. We started thinking about names long before the baby was conceived. I think most married couples start talking about names they like long before they actually intend to have a baby. We have a few names that we agree on and so we'll use some combination of those I'm sure. We don't it to be too popular or too long (considering our last name is already 8 letters). We don't want it to be hard to pronounce either since he/she will have a hard enough time with Kochevar. It's also become popular not to tell what you've decided to name your baby until after it he/she is born. Before my pregnancy I thought this was just plain silly! However, now being in the position myself I can see why we may want to keep it secret. What if he/she is born and we change our minds?!? What if she doesn't look like an Ellie or he doesn't look like a Finn? Thankfully we have 6 more months to at least get it narrowed down. In the meantime, we'll keep playing the name game.
Week 12: Plum
As you move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of her systems are fully formed.
