Week 8: Raspberry
Your baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.
Meet Baby!
Dr. Huynh (pronounced Win) is funny.
The round object is a picture of the yolk sac. The yolk sac first appears during the fifth week of pregnancy and grows to be no larger than 6 mm. The yolk sac is a membranous sac attached to an embryo, providing early nourishment in the form of yolk. It functions as the developmental circulatory system of the human embryo, before internal circulation begins.
I think this picture looks like a toad.
