Meet Baby

Ruggs and I went to the Dr. and got our first look at the baby! We were able to see the beating heart - beating 171 bpm! Ruggs was very excited and I think I was a little shocked and awed. Not because I didn't know what to expect, but seeing it and hearing the heart beat was amazing. It's confirmation that something really is in there! I've posted the pictures for you below. We also went to buy some maternity jeans. My pants are uncomfortably tight where they button, especially when I sit down. And using a rubber band does not work! The zipper still comes down and then I just feel silly. I'm happy with my new jeans and it's very nice to have the extra room!

Week 8: Raspberry
Your baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

 Meet Baby!
Dr. Huynh (pronounced Win) is funny.
The round object is a picture of the yolk sac. The yolk sac first appears during the fifth week of pregnancy and grows to be no larger than 6 mm. The yolk sac is a membranous sac attached to an embryo, providing early nourishment in the form of yolk. It functions as the developmental circulatory system of the human embryo, before internal circulation begins.
I think this picture looks like a toad.
You can see heartbeat here. Look closely at the baby... it looks like an angel!
