All Things in Due Time

It's been a while since I've posted so we have lots to catch up on!

Joe checking out the baby's new bed.
First, I'll start with baby. We had our growth scan on Wednesday and baby was already 8.5 lbs at 36 weeks. We are estimating that he would be 10.5+ lbs if I wait until 40 weeks to deliver. After talking with my Dr, we have decided to do an induction at 39 weeks on 9/12. The induction allows us to plan our hospital stay as well as hopefully keep the baby's size down. Since having the new baby will be a big adjustment at home and I'm going to need extra recovery time, I'm asking everyone to please come to the hospital to see us, if you're able, verses visiting us at home.

He likes to do lawn work!

His completion certificate for Lil Hoppers at PDRC
Joseph is coming into his toddler-hood and is cute and headstrong as ever. He is interested in the baby's room, but not in reading his big brother books (which talk about the baby coming). He likes to play with my tummy but ignores by belly when the baby kicks. I think he may have an adjustment ahead of him! I know he will be a loving big brother and I will try to help him adjust as lovingly and patiently as possible. He's still a momma's boy and it will be a hard couple of days apart for us both when I'm in the hospital. We plan on having him come with Dad to visit, but I think it will really be tough to have him leave at the end of the day. We are planning to continue Music Together  and Lil Hoppers for Joe to help maintain his schedule while adjusting to the new baby.

Jud (back center) with his friends from band.
Jud recently started his 10th grade year at Legacy and celebrated his 15th birthday. He is flying solo this year (without Sydney) and knee deep in Band. He's enjoying school and I think he likes the independence that comes with being a little older. Though he misses Sydney, he now has some room to be more than Syd's little brother. Actually, he's officially the big brother in the house these days - I think he kinda likes it!

Move-in day
Sydney moved into the dorm at CU last week. We were sad to see her go, but excited for her too. This is a chance for her to really spread her wings and be who she's going to be. I kept reminding Ruggs and Jud that she's not going to be too far away and that she'll come home on the weekends. However, turns out I'm the sappy weepy one when it was time to say goodbye. She is enjoying her classes and new found independence and I think she finds her Profs very entertaining. She is sticking pretty close to home with texts/phone calls and I think she maybe even misses us a little bit!

Darren plays a mean game of corn hole. :)
Darren is attending another year at Metro after spending a couple of weeks in Europe this summer. We're happy to see him enjoying school for the first time in a long time! He is also planning on trying out for the baseball team this weekend. Wish him luck!

In case you were unaware, Ruggs was promoted over the summer to Publisher of the magazine he's been working on, Sign & Digital Graphics Magazine. You can see the announcement of his new position here. He's enjoying the new challenges of this new position and it's keeping him plenty busy!

I'm looking forward to welcoming our new little boy home in a couple of weeks! I hope to get a chance to blog again after he arrives, but I know things will be hectic for a while. I'm hoping we can settle into a routine by Halloween and enjoy the holidays...
