We had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday and saw we are expecting another boy!
He's healthy and measuring at 20 weeks, 5 days (larger than the actual 19 weeks, 6 days he is). Dr Huynh is expecting him to be big like Joseph (in fact, she says most 2nd babies are bigger) so we are keeping a close eye on him and will do another ultrasound around 36 weeks. We also looking at another anterior placenta (it is on the top side between my tummy and the baby). It won't cause any complications other than making it tricky to hear the baby with the doppler. Ruggs and I think we have his name already chosen, but we're thinking we may like to keep it a secret this time until the baby is born - just for fun.
We also had Joseph's 18 months picture taken and there were so many cute ones! We didn't get all of them printed, but we do have the digitals for reprints if we decide to get them done.
We are less than 2 weeks away from Mother's Day & Sydney's graduation....

Time is flying by!
Time is flying by! Summer is approaching fast and we're busy busy as usual... In 2 weeks, we have our ultrasound to hopefully find out the sex of this baby. And in 3 weeks, Sydney will be graduating! I wanted to share a variety of things that have happened over the last couple of weeks before we get too much to blog...
Sydney is playing tennis for the school again this year and will letter as this is her 3rd year playing. She was nominated for a leadership award which she will be receiving next week and is also in the running for "best smile" among her classmates. We think it's no contest! :)
Judson played in his last concert band performance of his freshman year. He looks pretty dapper in his tux! He will begin practice for marching band in a few weeks.
Joseph is now 18 months. He's such a fun little person! He talks nonstop! Wonder where he gets that from?!?!
Over Easter weekend I went through my baptism, first communion and confirmation at Immaculate Conception church in Lafayette. I'm official!
Baby News:
I'm feeling much bigger with this one than I did with Joseph. Which is worrisome since I wasn't exactly small with Joe. I'm 18 weeks and the baby is the size of a bell pepper or 5.5" from head to rump. I occasionally think I feel some movement but nothing really big. This pregnancy is the same in some ways and different in others. I have no idea whether this one will be a boy or a girl. I guess we'll just have to wait 2 more weeks! Here is a comparison. The top was with Joe at approx the same times. I've noticed a definite change in shape in the last 2 weeks with this one!

Joe Meets "Hop Hop"
I took Joseph to meet the Easter Bunny at Flatirons Mall over the weekend. He responded a little better than we met Santa because he would wave and say "Hop Hop" when we were a safe distance away. Jud even got in on the picture trying to help Joseph sit by the bunny.

The size of, but not a lemon.
At 14 weeks baby is now the size of a lemon! From head to rump he/she should be about 3.5" - 4" long. We had our NT Scan (Nuchal translucency screening) last week which assess our baby's risk of having Down syndrome (DS) and some other chromosomal abnormalities as well as major congenital heart problems. The results came back very good so we seem to be in the clear and we got an "extra" ultrasound". Our next ultrasound is scheduled for May 8 and we will hopefully get to find out the gender at that appointment.
Since the weather has warmed up and we can be outside more often Joseph got a new backyard toy. He also loves to chase the cat or play with rocks in the backyard. We still go to the park because he loves to swing.
We finally got a nice day to go to the St Patrick's Day parade. Darren & Julia joined us. It was very crowded, but we were able to get an ok spot.
We're looking forward to Easter in a couple of weeks. Between the Easter Vigil Service (where I'll finally be able to receive the sacraments and will be fully Catholic), Joe being able to hunt Easter eggs and see the Easter bunny and spending time with family it should be a really eventful, fun weekend!
